About the Photographer

A short bio on Ian Horner.

I am based in Saltburn-by-the-sea, Cleveland, England. Thank you for visiting my website. Here you will find a collection of some my favourite photographs, taken by me over the last few years. This is really for the benefit of family and friends, so they can see what I'm up to!! But, please feel free to have a browse if you've stumbled across me. Since buying my first digital SLR, my passion for photography has escalated. I'm now using a Canon EOS 30D, EOS 5D and they are rarely far from my side.

Living and working in Cleveland means that most of the current portfolio are from events I attend in and around the local area. Indeed much of the portfolio features locations from Whitby and Robin Hoods bay areas, of which I regularly visit to enjoy the pace of life and the quality of the light.

Equipment

I'm very much a Canon man really, my cameras and most of my lenses being Canon. With digital cameras, I started with a Canon Powershot Pro 1 then changed to an Olympus E500. I then switched to my present camera a Canon EOS 30D, which I still have, and at the beginning of this year, I bought my Canon 100-400 lens. I have since bought myself a new EOS 5D. My other lenses include a Canon 24-105mm f4, a Canon 18-55mm, a Canon 18-50mm f2.8, a Tamaron 70-300. And of course, all the usual accessories, tripods, monopods, flash, filters etc.
